Earlier this week, I was talking to Carson about our plans to go shopping for toys to pack in our Operation Christmas Child box. Preparing him for the shopping trip, I asked, “Carson, do you want to go pick out some toys for another little boy who doesn’t have any toys at home?” He said “uh huh”… and then thought about it for a moment… and then shook his head and proclaimed, “No, ME!”
Matt and I looked at each other, stunned (and trying to hold back laughter) as we watched our little boy demonstrate the problem with us all- that we tend to care far more about ourselves than others.
I recently heard someone say that if anyone does not believe in original sin, they clearly have never raised a toddler. And I say, amen to that!
