from mbote to fist bumps

Three and a half months ago, this little girl was responding to the traditional Lingala greeting of “Mbote” with a handshake.  Today, she is wearing sequined princess sunglasses and insists on greeting others with a fist bump.  I’m not sure if this should make me laugh or cry.

about me

I’m Catherine. I am wife to Matt and mom to three crazy-awesome kids. (Equal parts crazy and awesome.) I write about adoption, the adventures and angst of our little brood, and my journey to understanding the radical love Christ has for my hot mess of a self. Welcome to a small glimpse into our sometimes mundane- but always ridiculously grace-filled- life.
