I thought she was quietly resting.
Famous last words for sure. Because not only was she not resting, but she was leaving her artistic mark (ahem) on every single piece of furniture (and every pair of her heels. because, of course.) in her room.
Oh and these pictures? They hardly even scratch the surface of what was left behind.
The real kicker came as I stood there stunned, stammering to come up with an appropriate response other than the obvious “WHAT WERE YOU THINKING??” Apparently shocked at my reaction and obviously proud of her work, Mary Grace cast me an incredulous look and asked,
“You are ACCUSING ME of being a beautiful artist?”
Sometimes in motherhood you just gotta laugh so you don’t cry.

That is washable crayon right???? When I moved Ellie’s bed to paint a few years back I discovered a whole city skyline she had done at the baseboard — in pen!
Some, yes. But some isn’t… Clearly, the first mistake was MINE in leaving crayons in her room. She and Ellie are really two peas in a pod.
Magic eraser! That child is a mess. Glad she is an angel at school. Lol
An angel huh? 🙂
When Sammie was about 2 I found her in her room with the bucket of gerbil food all over the carpet. I showed her how to scoop it back into the bucket and when I went back to check on her, she was putting the pieces in the bucket one at a time. That girl drove me crazy!
And look at how great Sammie has turned out! It gives me hope!! Ha!
